5 Tips to LOVE on Yourself NOW

During this time of world crisis (the pandemic of 2020), it is absolutely vital that you LOVE on your SELF(S) and do things that are not only good self-care, but engage in practices that raise your energetic vibration. Why? Because that boosts your immune system!

I’m using the acronym SELFS to share these tips. I know it’s not a word! However, we have many aspects of our SELF in need of care at this time. So…without further ado here are my 5 Tips to Love on Yourself(s) Now:

1. Sage Yourself and Your Space

Sage has long been used by Native Americans and other indigenous people to clear negativity and for healing. But did you know that burning sage can actually reduce airborne bacteria?  Sage has both antibacterial and antimicrobial (stops or inhibits growth of microorganisms) properties.  A 2007 study published in the Journal of Ethnopharmacol found “medicinal smoke caused over 94% reduction of bacterial counts by 60 min and the ability of the smoke to purify or disinfect the air and to make the environment cleaner” lasted up to 24 hours!

2. Enjoy This Moment and Yourself

What can you appreciate about this very NOW moment that you are in? What are you grateful for? Ask, what is great about this? As you appreciate and enjoy this very moment, you shift your focus.

Doing the things that bring you JOY and the things you really love to do is another great way to shift your focus onto the positive and raise your vibration. These can be simple things like petting a puppy or sipping a cup of tea. Or do something with your hands, like crafts, cooking, crocheting or painting rocks. You might even re-read a favorite book or call a friend who always makes you laugh or watch a funny movie. Anything you do that makes you smile is showing love for your self.

3. Look Forward to Something

Anticipation is a great way to show yourself some love, too. When you have your next vacation planned, you daydream about how it will feel to be there. When you do this, your mind and body relax and “act as if” you are already there. Having something to look forward to helps you navigate the here and now, especially if you’re in the midst of a challenge. 4. Feel Your Emotions

Don’t ignore what you’re feeling, especially if you are triggered by what others are doing or saying or if you’re feeling upset, anxious or worried. Feelings are natural and they are spiritual messengers for us. However, in order to receive their messages, we need to pay attention to them! So, do this right now….

  • STOP and notice an emotion you are feeling.
  • Take 3 deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth.
  • Next, scan your body. Using worried as an example, notice where is the worry in your body?  Where do you feel it most prominently?  Is it in your stomach… your heart… your head…?
  • Then observe the worry as if it were a physical object. What does it look like?
  • Breathe into it… and notice… what is the size and shape of the object? Does it have a texture?  Is it moving or sitting still?  What color is it?  Is it heavy or light? Is it hot or cold? Is it growing or staying the same size?

Just taking these few minutes to observe your emotion as an object will help you feel it. If the object moves around in your body, you can follow it. However, be careful to just observe it. And LOVE it! Love that worry and let it know that everything is okay.  Let it know that it can stay or it can go and either way, you will love it.

I have a deeper process that I do with my clients that can help uncover where the emotion is stemming from, but this will give you a good start in feeling your emotions.

5. Sea Salt Baths or Ocean Dips

Salt has clearing and cleansing properties too and is great for clearing your energetic fields.  If you live on Maui or an ocean accessible place, you can simply float in the ocean, nature’s salt bath. If not, soak in a tub of hot water mixed with 2-3 cups of sea salt and 3 tablespoons of baking soda.

Slide into the water so you neck is immersed and soak for 15 minutes.  You can do this anytime you are feeling weary (emotionally or physically) or if you feel like you are “coming down” with something like a cold. I have found when I do this, that often the cold never comes or it resolves much more quickly.  If you have body aches, you can add Epsom salt to the bath. I also love adding essential oils or flower essences and lighting a candle to create a spa experience as I bathe.

Speed Up the Law of Attraction

We all have the ability to manifest our desires. You have no doubt heard of  “The Secret” – it was a video and book published many years ago which brought to light that we all have this ability.  The truth is there are many secrets to manifesting your desires and to speeding up the Law of Attraction.

Have you ever wondered how other people seem to manifest things so fast?

A client of mine recently manifested a free trip to Hawaii almost instantly. She was participating in my Treasure Box Club where we had been focusing on increasing our abundance attraction factor through a powerful feng shui adjustment called the Treasure Box. She was thinking that she really needed to be by the water (she lives in the desert of Arizona). A few moments later she received a phone call asking if she was available to assist at a workshop in Hawaii, all expenses paid!!

Creating the reality you want to experience is so much fun and I love sharing my “secrets” about how you can do this yourself. These are not just concepts. These are strategies, actions and rituals that have worked for me and other people I know. The source of my knowledge is expansive: books, workshops, CDs, live events and interactions with others who have created their dream lives. I am continually learning and putting more of the pieces of the dream life puzzle together. Learning helps us grow and if you are not growing, you are dying.

The Law of Attraction is the senior law, above any other universal law including the Law of Gravity. To make the Law of Attraction work for you, you need to continually focus on feeling good – every month, every week, every day, every hour and every moment.

Feeling good should be your number one goal at all times.

How do you tell if you are feeling good? It’s easy!

You have a wonderful built in guidance system. It’s your emotions. You have a range of negative emotions – emotions that don’t feel good when you encounter them: worry, fear, anger, anxiety, sadness, irritation, impatience and doubt, to name a few. You also have a range of positive emotions, which feel good when they arise: anticipation, joy, happiness, excitement, peace, wonder, appreciation, gratitude and bliss.

How often do you experience bliss?

If you experience bliss on a daily basis, I would be willing to bet that you are living a good chunk of your dream life already.

How you feel is your Law of Attraction barometer. If you are feeling good, you know the things you most want in life are speeding towards you. If you are not feeling so good, you must accept that the things you want are being placed in a universal escrow. They will remain there until you start feeling good on a consistent basis. Then they will flow to you, like a virtual river of abundance.

So, how does this work on a daily basis?

All day long, it’s your job to focus on things that make you feel good or if you are feeling bad, on things that make you feel a little bit better and a little bit better until you are feeling good again. Use anything that works for you. For me, nature is my go to good feeling source. I find joy in looking at beautiful trees or basking in the sunshine, a pretty little bird that lands on my deck, flowers at the garden center, the scent of Lilac bushes or Plumeria, the feel of a warm breeze on my skin, a colorful sunset or even an expected sighting of a beaver or whale in the water on an evening walk.

When I meet or see people in passing, I focus on finding something I like about them…maybe they have eyes that are a unique color or I like the purse they are carrying or the shoes they have on or they have a great smile. When I see something I like and it’s appropriate to share, I tell the person directly. This not only makes them feel good, it creates a connection between us.  I also find this practice helps impress this person into my memory and that they, in turn, often remember me.

Focusing on feeling good is something you can, and should do individually on a daily basis. This practice alone will help raise your vibration. The higher your vibration or your energy, the faster you will attract the things you want into your life.

When people are connected in one room – physically together and sharing the same space – their energies or vibrations meld together and create another, more powerful and higher vibration. And, if the individuals in the group are all focused on feeling good and raising their energetic vibrations, it works like a nitro boost for the individuals, allowing them to attract the things they want at a faster pace.

In 2011, I attended three Tony Robbins’ events: Unleash the Power Within in March in Florida, Business Mastery in June in Fiji and Date with Destiny in Palm Springs in December. Saying that all of these events were high energy is an understatement. Tony has a real gift for raising the energy levels and vibrations of his attendees and for keeping that energy up for days at a time.

I took time out of my busy schedule to attend these events for a week or two at a time. Many people said they couldn’t afford to take that much time away from their business, especially those that are self- employed. Yet, my business boomed and I increased my sales by over $100,000 that year!

I learned some things that were helpful in my business and in my life. Honestly, though, I didn’t implement half of the things that I learned. I’m convinced it was more about getting that regular infusion of good positive, vibration-raising energy at regular intervals that year which gave my business that big boost.

Not everyone works for themselves or has the flexibility to travel to events like this for weeks at a time. Maybe money is an issue since you haven’t yet attracted the million dollar income you’ve been telling the universe you want.

So…how can you raise your vibration to start attracting what you want in your life?

Participate in high energy, high vibration groups (even virtually) on a regular basis.

How to Shake Up Your Chi

Clients often share with me that they feel stuck or unmotivated or that they cannot shift a particular area of their life and as a result are feeling frustrated. Sometimes things were going well and then they suddenly feel they have hit a plateau. When this happens, I first recommend energetically clearing both their homes and offices. Next, I look at how we can shift the energy in their space and their life. Shifting energy is which is what feng shui is all about!

In feng shui, chi refers to energy. Everything has chi or energy – physical objects, cars, homes, offices and even human beings. You may have heard a person’s personal energy referred to as their vibration.

When we are “in flow” our chi/energy is good and we are vibrating at a high level. You have experienced this when you “happened” to be in the right place at the right time or things lined up easily for you, without a lot of effort on your part.

Then there are times when things are not flowing. You may feel like you are moving through mud and perhaps cannot seem to get any traction. Or you may feel like you are not moving at all. You may, in fact, be energetically stuck.

If you’re feeling stuck or out of sorts, it might be time to SHAKE UP your CHI! 

There are many ways to shift out of this stuck place. One of my favorite ways is to shake up your chi. Shifting your chi or energy, allows you to see circumstances from a fresh perspective which leads to ideas and solutions that you cannot access from that stuck place.

The next time you’re feeling stuck, try one of these six ways to Shake Up Your Chi: 

  1. Try something new! Try a new restaurant or food, a new activity, a new experience, a new way of doing something or learning something new (take a class).
  2. Take a new route. Drive down a different road. Take a different route to or from work. Walk a different way. I remember walking the opposite way that I normally would go and saw so many things I never noticed walking the other way. For peeps in Maui, swim at a different beach or hike a new trail.
  3. Move your furniture around. This method shifts the energy in your space in a very real way. My landlord recently brought me different living room furniture and a different kitchen table and it totally changed the energy I felt in that space and opened it up too. Creating more flow by clearing walkways through your house helps too.
  4. Change up your routine. Do your daily activities in a different order, like getting dressed before you look at your phone or meditating, exercising or walking at a different time of day. You could also go in and out a different door (hello front door!), use different dishes – maybe even the fine china. Eat in a different room, like that dining room that is used so rarely. Even putting your right sock or shoe on first instead of your left can shake up your chi!
  5. Pick a random letter and call someone you haven’t talked to in awhile (thanks for this one Gary V). Talking to an old friend or a family member you haven’t chatted with lately can be a great way to remind you what’s important in life too.
  6. And, the ultimate way to shake up your chi?! Go on VACATION or on a RETREAT!!! Yes, it’s true! Changing your physical environment is a wonderful way to shake up your chi, especially if you are visiting a place you have never been or doing something you have never done before.
